La Cabra Mexican - Carlton

Okay the Mexican food was delicious!!!!! That’s all I have to say. The service was quick and the waiter cleared our table really quick for the next dish. The only recommendation for improvement would be the music. The music was so loud that I couldn’t even hear myself or my family member. Sometimes less is more ! If it wasn’t for the music I’d give a 5 star rating.

Favourite item was the cauliflower bites! Fried fish taco was hit or miss, we had a few good ones at the table and some that were quite tasteless. Nachos were pretty disappointing though. The tortilla chips were a bit hard and there was SO much beef piled on that it was hard to get any chip that wasn’t soggy. Really struggled to finish that one

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago. Place is pretty loud - with the music and ppl chatter. Food was not too bad, big serving for my beef quesadilla! Lots of slow cooked beef but flavour wise was mediocre, can only see and taste beef, also slightly on the drier side. The chipotle mayo that comes on the side for it was pretty good :) Had a terrible experience for the cocktail tho. I ordered pink margarita - as I prefer Patron tequila that’s used in it rather than the tequilas in the other cocktails. Luckily from my table, I can see behind the bar so at that time I saw the service ppl behind it put different tequila on my cocktail. It was supposed to use Patron, not El Jimador. When it is indeed my cocktail that they made and delivered to me, I asked the server.. he said they use same tequila for every drinks containing tequila. Uhm.. that feels so not right, as on the menu it’s written specific brand tequila and could mislead customers, might as well don’t mention any brand if you guys gonna change or swap around the brand anyway. After a couple server deal with my complaints regarding that mixed up tequila used, they finally made me a new one. In general, the service was pretty good. But that already reducing my dining experience there from the start on - witnessing that and had to have small argument regarding the mishap that happened. They also do have 10% weekend surcharge, just to be aware. I do like the takeaway packaging tho, it’s quite cute.

On 11 January we decided to have our Wednesday Date Night at home and we ordered from La Cabra ✨ We got: 🌮 Chimichurri Beef Tacos 🌮 Spiced Chicken Tacos 🌮 Chili Grilled Prawn Tacos 🌮 Fried Fish Tacos 🌮 Crisps and Dips The tacos were amazing!! Not only that the flavors were spot on, they were not shy with the portion 😍 It’s hard to say which one would be our favorite as all tacos were equally yummy. We’re definitely planning to visit their restaurant in the future 🤩
